Don’t forget! The Wine Trail Scoot led by Oscar and myself is only six days away. We are still meeting at Lux Cafe and Bakery on William Cannon at 12:30 this Sunday.
Discussions are going on in the Forum about future long rides so stay tuned for more information.

It is time to experience a little bit of Tuscany in central Texas! “How are we going to do that?” you ask. Well the answer is simple –ride our scooters to a winery (or two). There will be wine, food, camaraderie, and most importantly, some serious scooter riding.
When: Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 12: 30 PM.
Where: Meet at Lux Bakery on William Cannon and Brodie Lane (by the Firestone and Hollywood Video).
1 PM: Ride out through some back roads and downtown Buda to arrive at Driftwood Vineyards.
2:15 PM: Taste some wines and enjoy the stunning views at the vineyard.
3:30 PM: Head up the street to Mandolo’s Estate Winery. Enjoy more wine and have a late lunch at their Tuscan restaurant.
5:30 PM: Take the direct route back to Austin.
This ride is for 125cc+ scooters only. Please wear closed toes shoes, helmets, and I recommend sunscreen. Check your tires, oil and arrive with a full tank of gas. The ride should be around forty miles before arriving at the first winery. Please vote on the official attendance thread in the forum. We need to get a head count for the restaurant.

Our first official stickers arrived in the mail today, and they look fantastic! You probably have seen the design on the Meetup page, but now you can have your own tangible version to adorn your scooter, notebook, guitar case, lamp post, bathroom wall, etc. They measure 2.75″ × 2.75″ and are made of waterproof vinyl.
Mary and Emily will have them in their possession at future Austin Scooter Club events, and they will hand them out to members and attendees at the end of the events. You can have a sticker at no cost at every event you attend. We would just like you to sport the sticker to show your support to the club. Invite your friends with scooters to go on group rides and they will each get a sticker, too! Who wouldn’t want to go on a relaxing ride around the beautiful city of Austin on a sunny day with fellow scooter enthusiasts and get a free sticker?
We have also turned a few stickers into magnets for loyal members to place on their scooter or their fridge. The magnets are very limited in quantity, so you will have to request them directly from Mary at a group ride that she attends.
If you haven’t already signed up for our mailing list or joined our forum, then please do so to get immediate updates from the club. Those two methods are the fastest ways to get our latest updates with what’s going on. The Meetup Group is in the process of being completely phased out, so if you or your friends depend on getting updates through that site, then you’ll be left in the dust!
