Sunset and Hamburgers ride this Friday, July 31

After a couple weeks of hiding in the air conditioning, the Austin Scooter Club is hosting a ride this Friday. We will meet at P. Terry’s on North Lamar (the new location) at 6:30 for some delicious hamburgers and shakes. We will head out at 7:30 and ride until sundown. This ride is going to be in town, so you can bring whatever size scooter you own. Please wear a helmet.  P. Terry's Sign

The Morning X on 101X mentions Austin Scooter Club

On behalf of the Austin Scooter Club, Mary and the ScootClub.com admins sent a gift to Jason Dick, one of the hosts of their favorite morning radio show The Morning X with Jason and Deb on 101X.

jason gets some michael jordan cologne The Morning X on 101X mentions Austin Scooter ClubOn July 2nd at 6:51am on Morning X, Mary and the Austin Scooter Club were thanked during a segment about Jason finally getting a bottle of Michael Jordan cologne. He read the letter on air that Mary enclosed with the package which asked if he could take a picture with the box which you see here. The site was also mentioned which is great exposure for the club.

The Morning X airs weekdays from 6am-10am on 101.5 FM. You can also listen to the show via 101X’s live stream during those hours or on their podcast if you don’t catch it live.

If you missed the segment involving Michael Jordan cologne and the Austin Scooter Club, you can listen to it here (requires Flash):

Tour de Taquerías ride this Sunday, July 12

It is time for the gastronomic feast and ride y’all have all been waiting for — the Tour de Taquerías! Bring an empty stomach and some antacids to prepare for this ride.

10 AM: Start meeting at Jo’s Coffeehouse on South Congress.
11 AM: Kickstands up. We’ll ride around for about forty minutes before arriving at the first taco stand. We’ll eat for about forty-five minutes, and then ride some more to digest. We will be stopping at three different taco stands.
3 PM: Ride ends.

This will be an in-town ride, so scooters of all sizes are welcome! Don’t forget to wear a helmet and sunscreen, too!

Yum...Tacos...
