The Republic of Texas (ROT) Motorcycle rally is next weekend. The city will be flooded with thousands of motorcycles of all shapes and styles. The Austin Scooter Club will be hosting a short city ride this Saturday evening so we can check out the craziness downtown.
Mary will be leading the ride on her red Stella. Please wear your helmet.
Agenda
5:00 PM: Meet at P. Terry’s Hamburgers at 404 S Lamar Blvd.
6:00 PM: Head out for a city cruise to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ROT Rally.
7:00 PM: Finish the ride with a cold one at The Local Pub and Patio.

Since all of the downtown bars will be overrun with bikers, The Local Pub and Patio has volunteered to be the official scooter hang out spot during the ROT Rally. $2 select draft beers all weekend long for scooterists. Come out and show your scooter pride.

The Austin Scooter Club in conjunction with Austin Hooligans will be serving as scooter ambassadors for this year’s Statesman Capitol 10K.
What does that mean? We will be leading the race in front of the runners to pass out t-shirts, noisemakers, and other promotional items to people watching the race. As an event volunteer, you will receive a free t-shirt + free food and beer from the volunteer’s tent after the race ends.
The Capitol 10K benefits the Meals on Wheels charity and will be a good way to show Austin residents just how cool scooters are.
Agenda
7:00 AM: Meet at the IHOP at IH-35 and Cesar Chavez to receive your volunteer t-shirt from Michael.
7:30 AM: Head to the S Congress Bridge where the race starts.
11:30 AM: Go to the volunteer area after the race to enjoy food, beer, and live music.
If you are interested, please respond to the thread titled Austin Capitol 10K ride April 11, 2010 – RIDERS NEEDED in the General Discussion section of the Forum. You can also reply on Facebook to the event Ride the Capitol 10k in Austin. Hope to see you there!

Starting this Wednesday, members of the Austin Scooter Club will meet up at the Pour House (6701 Burnet Rd in the 78757) for some beer, food, and camaraderie. We’ll be arriving around 6-6:30pm and hanging out for a couple hours.
If you scoot in the North/Central part of town or just feel like going for a ride, then we would love it if you joined us. Everyone is welcome. We plan on making this a weekly event, so if you can’t make it this week, then pencil us in for a future Wednesday.

It’s that time of year to break the tinsel and Christmas lights out of storage and spread a little holiday cheer. Attach the tinsel and Christmas lights to your scooter and ride around town looking at other people’s tinsel and Christmas lights. Since this ride is in town, all size scooters are welcome. So deck your scooter and join the ASC for the Scootour of Lights!
Agenda
5:30 PM: Meet at Mighty Cone at 1600 S. Congress Ave. for some delicious and semi-famous trailer food.
6:30 PM: Go for a nice city ride around Austin to check out Christmas lights.
8:00 PM: End at Thunderbird Coffee on Koenig for warm (or cold) beverages.

Don’t feel guilty if you can’t make it out this time. Another Scootour of Lights is scheduled for Sunday, December 20. Details coming soon.
