The Republic of Texas (ROT) Motorcycle rally is next weekend. The city will be flooded with thousands of motorcycles of all shapes and styles. The Austin Scooter Club will be hosting a short city ride this Saturday evening so we can check out the craziness downtown.
Mary will be leading the ride on her red Stella. Please wear your helmet.
Agenda
5:00 PM: Meet at P. Terry’s Hamburgers at 404 S Lamar Blvd.
6:00 PM: Head out for a city cruise to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ROT Rally.
7:00 PM: Finish the ride with a cold one at The Local Pub and Patio.

Since all of the downtown bars will be overrun with bikers, The Local Pub and Patio has volunteered to be the official scooter hang out spot during the ROT Rally. $2 select draft beers all weekend long for scooterists. Come out and show your scooter pride.

ASC doesn’t always have to leave Travis County to get good BBQ, and this Sunday is no exception. After lunch, we’ll head south and cruise around McKinney Falls State Park. This ride is meant for 125cc and above scooters.
Agenda
11am: Meet at Franklin BBQ for some of the most-hyped BBQ in town. Franklin BBQ is located at 3421 N IH-35.
Noon: Kickstands up. If you plan to eat lunch, please try to arrive early.
3pm: Cruise back into town and grab coffee at Ruta Maya on S Congress.
Mary will be leading the ride, so keep an eye out for her red Stella at the meet up location. Ask her for a vinyl sticker or two. Please wear your helmet!

The Third Friday ride will be postponed this week. Rain has been predicted for Friday, so I would rather not take the chance of having to cancel plans at the last minute. Ride safe and stay dry.

The Austin Scooter Club in conjunction with Austin Hooligans will be serving as scooter ambassadors for this year’s Statesman Capitol 10K.
What does that mean? We will be leading the race in front of the runners to pass out t-shirts, noisemakers, and other promotional items to people watching the race. As an event volunteer, you will receive a free t-shirt + free food and beer from the volunteer’s tent after the race ends.
The Capitol 10K benefits the Meals on Wheels charity and will be a good way to show Austin residents just how cool scooters are.
Agenda
7:00 AM: Meet at the IHOP at IH-35 and Cesar Chavez to receive your volunteer t-shirt from Michael.
7:30 AM: Head to the S Congress Bridge where the race starts.
11:30 AM: Go to the volunteer area after the race to enjoy food, beer, and live music.
