Sunday Morning Johnson City Group Ride

Linda will be leading a group ride to Johnson City this Sunday (7/21). Meet up at 8:15am at Thunderbird Coffee (1401 Koenig Lane). The group will leave at 9am. Helmets are required. Gas up before leaving Thunderbird. This ride is for scooters that can maintain at least 55 mph on long hills. Total mileage will be about 130 miles.

From Linda’s ASC Facebook Group post: “This is a variation of Eric’s ride to Johnson City from a few months ago. From Thunderbird we’ll take 2222 west with a possible detour, then get onto 620 and take another detour before we get to Hamilton Pool Road. Depending on the time, we may take a quick butt break at RR12 and 3238. In Johnson City we’ll eat lunch at Pecan Street Brewing and return to Austin via Fitzhugh Road.”

We hope to see you on Sunday morning!

Impromptu Ride to Georgetown Tomorrow

Linda will be leading this group ride.

This is a last-second, impromptu ride on Sunday, October 7th, 2012!:P

WHAT? Ride to Monument Cafe in Georgetown
WHEN? Sunday, October 7th
TIME? Meet at 12:15 p.m. Ride at 1:00 p.m.
WHERE? Genuine Joe at 2001 West Anderson Lane (Rally Contributor)
HOW LONG? Approximately 85 miles. We’ll be back in Austin before dark.

DOT or Snell Helmets required!
Any scooter that can maintain at least 50 mph on long, steep grades will work!
Everyone show up with a full tank of gas!
Remember to bring your camera!

RIDE DESCRIPTION
We’ll take an indirect 52-mile route up to Georgetown on lightly traveled rural roads. The roads are a little rough on the way to Georgetown, so we’ll keep an easy pace and it will take about an hour and a half to get there. Butt/potty break at about the 30-mile mark in Hutto. When we reach Georgetown, we’ll park at the courthouse and take a few minutes to walk around the historic downtown. http://thegeorgetownsquare.com/index.php

The Monument Cafe always seems to be packed, but I’m told the crowd starts thinning out at 3:00. About that time we’ll head over for some great home cooking and DESSERTS! http://www.themonumentcafe.com/#

The 35-mile ride home will go quickly, being much more direct and urban.

This is a long ride, so be sure to dress to stay warm all afternoon! It’s one thing to be “warm enough” on a 20-minute commute and a very different thing to stay warm all afternoon!

Be there!
8-)
