First Annual Holiday Scoot ‘n Skate

Austin Scooter Club will be hosting our first ever Holiday Scoot ‘n Skate. We’ll grab some pizza at Southside Flying Pizza and take a nice city cruise up to Chaparral Ice Northcross for ice skating. It costs $10 to rent skates. I highly suggest bringing some gloves and thick socks for skating. Feel free to invite your loved ones to skate time. I hope to see you there.

We will leave from Southside at 6 pm sharp.

The ride will be 50cc friendly.

If anyone is interested, we can meander on down to the Pour House after skating.

Evening Group Ride this Saturday

The intense summer heat is starting to ease up, so a group ride is in order. We will take back roads to The Oasis, enjoy the sunset over Lake Travis, and head back to Austin proper before nightfall.

View a map of the ride here and decide whether or not you feel comfortable enough with your skill level. This is one of the most technically challenging rides that has been offered by ASC and is limited to scooters that can maintain 45-50 mph. The route has a great deal of curvy roads, so please ride with caution.

Mary will be leading the ride on her red Stella. Please wear your helmet.

Agenda

4:15 PM: Meet at Phil’s Icehouse at 5620 Burnet Rd for delicious hamburgers.
5:15 PM: Ride out.
6:45PM: Arrive at The Oasis. We’ll grab a quick drink and take in the view of Lake Travis.
7:30 PM: Head back into town before it gets too dark.
8:45 PM: End at Pour House Pub at 6701 Burnet Rd to close out the ride.

February Third Friday Ride in three days!

For February, we will be returning to some of Austin Scooter Club’s favorite places. We’ll enjoy some delicious and classy tacos at Izzoz, go for a nice 50cc friendly cruise around Central Austin, and end at the Pour House Pub on Burnet in the Brentwood neighborhood. Eric will be leading the ride so keep an eye out for his brown and orange Vespa P200 at Izzoz.

6:00 PM: Meet at Izzoz Tacos at 1207 S 1st Street in the heart of 78704.
7:00 PM: Go on a cruise around Central Austin.
8:30 PM: End at the Pour House Pub on Burnet Rd.

North Austin Scooterists gather on Wednesdays

Starting this Wednesday, members of the Austin Scooter Club will meet up at the Pour House (6701 Burnet Rd in the 78757) for some beer, food, and camaraderie. We’ll be arriving around 6-6:30pm and hanging out for a couple hours.

If you scoot in the North/Central part of town or just feel like going for a ride, then we would love it if you joined us. Everyone is welcome. We plan on making this a weekly event, so if you can’t make it this week, then pencil us in for a future Wednesday.

Meet for Tacos + Group Ride this Friday, October 16!

The Austin Scooter Club will be hosting a group ride every third Friday of the month. Now you can plan in advance to take off work, schedule a sitter, or do what you need to do to attend the club rides. The kickoff is this Friday, October 16th.

Agenda

Meet at Izzoz Tacos at 1207 S 1st Street starting at 5:30pm.
Enjoy dinner & conversation from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
Kickstands up at 6:45pm.
Cruise around town. The weather is supposed to be sunny and mild, so bring a jacket if you get cold when it dips below 60°.
End at the Pour House at 6701 Burnet Road.

I look forward to seeing everyone on our first ever Third Friday ride.
